HAND COLORED OILS

     We offer four types of oil coloring. Each requires that a 4x5 inch copy negative and a sepia-toned print be made on which our artist does the actual coloring. Price includes negative, toned print and coloring. Any restoration service is additional.  Please add 35% to these prices for more than one person in a group photo.

TINTS - Very subtle touches of transparent color applied only to face, hair and eyes, with just a hint of color in clothing.

LIGHT OILS - Heads, background and clothing are colored with transparent oils. Entire surface of print is painted, and tones are deeper, with definite highlights and shadows.

BRUSH OILS - Faces are painted in transparent oils, similar to light oils, but the background is painted with opaque oil, and brush strokes are quite apparent. This also serves to cover or change undesirable background, or to add background where needed.

HEAVY OILS - Hair, clothes and background are brush painted with intricate detail and rich color. Visible brush strokes follow the contours of the subject. Gives the appearance of a fine painting with the detail of a photograph.
